Bamboo Space Frame

As an extension of the bamboo fabrication at the practice we were commissioned to create a pin jointed bamboo space frame as a pergola atop a residential terrace in New Delhi's Nizamuddin locality. The terrace was to be shaded permitting social gatherings and plantation. The columns of the structure too were designed in bamboo as was the bar & service counters and screens for the services near the back. The nearly 650 sq.ft terrace was covered with a clear acrylic sheet enabling use even during the rains. Planter baskets we're suspended below the framework to add to the sustainable thought and appearance of the structure.
